Registration Begins for Santa Dash 5k Run/Walk in Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH | People can get into the holiday spirit while running for “a good Claus” at the second annual Santa Dash 5K Run/Walk. The event is being held on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 am at Valcour Brewing Company in partnership with Adirondack Coast Events.
Proceeds will go toward scholarships supporting nurses at University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) who are seeking to further their education and grow professionally. This includes taking additional classes, pursuing certifications, attending conferences and conducting research.

Olympic Fever: Go Elle GO!
The Paris Olympics kicks off with opening ceremonies on Friday night and both the St. Albans Messenger and 98.9 WOKO sent well-wishes to Vermont competitor, Elle St. Pierre. On Thursday, St. Pierre won the first round of the 1500 meter!

Elle St. Pierre won her heat and took first-place over all in the first round of the women’s 1500m, finishing 4:06.41 on Thursday, June 27.

Breaking Barriers: Keeseville's Devann Murphy does NYC Marathon on Crutches
On Sunday, the northern New York native will join more than 50,000 people at the starting line, competing in the 2023 New York City Marathon. But she will do so without her handcycle this time, using crutches instead.
“Why not?” she said. “It will be hard, and it will hurt. But because I can…I have so many friends that I race with that can not stand, can not walk. And that’s something that I still have the ability to do. ”
