SportCar USA Spring Showcase in St. Albans This Weekend
Love muscle cars? This is a can’t miss event – Sport Car USA will present the Spring Showcase & Touch-A-Truck Event at 699/701 Highgate Road at the Handy Chevrolet/Handy Toyota Campus on May 18 (rain date May 19). Enjoy food from Bob’s Meat Market, Creemees from Palmer Lane Maple, and music and entertainment from DJ Bun. The campus will be filled with sports/muscle cars, as well as trucks, industrial vehicles, farm vehicles, and more! All proceeds benefit Spectrum Youth and Family Services.

5 Generations of Driving Miss Lizzie
5 generations of the Aubin family have enjoyed driving Miss Lizzie; a 1931 Ford Model A, originally used to deliver mail in Lyndonville. Now, she’s been lovingly restored by the Aubin family.
Seven Days senior multimedia producer Eva Sollberger visited C.J.’s Aubin Electric shop in Lyndonville on a sunny Saturday to meet members of the Aubin family, hear some stories and hitch a ride with Lizzie.

17-Year-Old Wins Full Scholarship to UVM with VT Pitch Challenge
A high school snowboarder has made it her mission to put mental health in the spotlight for high-stakes athletes. Pippa Scott, a junior at Killington Mountain School started her non-profit, Ride for Mental Health in 2022 after the loss of her 3 friends to suicide. She took the Vermont Pitch Challenge and won a full scholarship to UVM.

Make 'n Take with Mom at Adams Orchard and Farm Market Sunday May 5th
If you’re ready to peruse the greenhouses and get a gift for mom, this might be right up your alley. Adams Orchard and Farm Market in Williston is hosting a Make ‘n Take party, decoupaging plant pots aboard a mobile crafting bus. Open 9-12 noon Sunday, May 5th, make ‘n take a pot and then fill it with plants from their greenhouse. $12 each or 2 for $20. Plants start at $3.99.
Adams Orchard and Farm Market is located on the corner of Old Stage Road and Mountain View Road in Williston.

Boxing Boost for Locals with Parkinson's
Roughly one million Americans suffer from Parkinson’s disease, according to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). A local gym is helping people with Parkinson’s through boxing.
Fysical, a Williston gym, uses boxing to help people with Parkinson’s Disease along with creating community bonds. Rock Steady Boxing is based out of Indianapolis, with gyms across the country focused on helping those diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease fight it through this unique approach that builds community, camaraderie and coordination.
Zach Wilson of Fysical in Williston was given the nod to be head coach and has been training athletes since the Williston location opened in January.

57th Maple Fest This Weekend in St. Albans
The Vermont Maple Festival kicks off this Friday, April 26, at noon with the traditional maple and milk toast, when the parade marshall is officially announced. For those looking to attend, be sure to grab a traditional maple and milk drink to participate in the opening ceremony.
Friday also kicks off the weekend-long exhibits in both St. Mary’s Parish Center, for the maple foods exhibit, and the BFA-St. Albans gym, for the craft and specialty foods show.

Since the early 80s, locals who live around Joe’s Pond have laid bets on when the ice will finally leave this placid pond in West Danville. This year, the ice ebbed and flowed away on April 14th at 4:02 am.

Waitsfield Local Hits Broadway
Shaina Taub stars in her own musical, “Suffs,” a Broadway nod to the National Woman’s Party’s role in the suffrage movement. Co-produced with former Former United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the musical has been making the rounds on the talk show circuit, including a stint on the Kelly Clarkson Show this past week.
