160,000 Visit Vermont for the Solar Eclipse
On Wednesday at Gov. Phil Scott’s news conference, state officials released some key numbers following Monday’s eclipse and the big weekend leading up to the event.
The state said their preliminary numbers show roughly 60,000 vehicles entered Vermont during that period, and with their analytics, equated 160,000 people came here for the once-in-a-lifetime event.

Vermont Motorsports Expo This Saturday
A group of gearheads has created the Vermont Motorsports Hall of Fame to recognize local legends of racing.
The new nonprofit officially fires up its engine on Saturday, March 30, at the first-ever Vermont Motorsports Expo in Barre. It will honor people in a wide range of motorized disciplines: stock car, sports car, hill climb, motocross, snowmobile, truck and tractor pull, karting, and demolition derby. The group will also name a “racer of the year.”

Plattsburgh 6th Graders Put The Eclipse On Display
More than 50 sixth-grade students from the Stafford Middle School in Plattsburgh created projects that shared the process, history, and safety measures for the total solar eclipse on April 8. They’ve been learning about it in Mrs. Sarah McCarty’s class for months.

Breaking Barriers: Keeseville's Devann Murphy does NYC Marathon on Crutches
On Sunday, the northern New York native will join more than 50,000 people at the starting line, competing in the 2023 New York City Marathon. But she will do so without her handcycle this time, using crutches instead.
“Why not?” she said. “It will be hard, and it will hurt. But because I can…I have so many friends that I race with that can not stand, can not walk. And that’s something that I still have the ability to do. ”
